Hello My Name Is...

Amanda Atkinson


I am excited to begin my second year at Forest Heights.  I am beginning my twelfth year of teaching.  I previously taught at Alpena Elementary, teaching 1st grade for one year and 2nd grade for two years.  I have taught Kindergarten for the past eight years.

I attended North Arkansas College where I received my Associate of Arts Degree.  Then I transferred to University of Central Arkansas where I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.  After I began my teaching career, I decided to further my education.  I earned my Masters Degree from Arkansas State University.  I recently received my National Board Certification. 

Kindergarten is a very important grade for students.  It is my favorite grade to teach because of all of the growth that I see throughout the school year.  I strive to make my student's Kindergarten year exciting and successful by providing a safe and caring learning environment.
